Terms of Service

1. About us
This website, caljewellery.com, is operated by Cal Jewellery Limited, trading as CAL JEWELLERY ("we", "us", "our"). We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15695795. Our registered office is Bolton Lodge, Marsh Lane, Southowram, Halifax, HX3 9NR, United Kingdom. Our VAT registration number is GB 475 4359 60.
You can contact us by email at shop@caljewellery.com or through our Message us page.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you use our website and when you buy products from us. Please read them before placing an order. The terms in force when you place your order are the ones that apply to it.
If you are buying as a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
3. Our products
- Product images are for illustration. Our pieces are finished by hand, so small variations in texture, oxidisation and colour are normal and are not a fault. Colours may also look slightly different on your screen.
- Sterling silver (.925) will naturally oxidise and darken over time. This is a property of the metal, not a defect.
- Gemstones are as described on each product page, including where they are synthetic.
- Please check your size using the size guide on each product page before ordering. If you have a known metal allergy, check the material listed for each product.
4. Ordering and when the contract is made
When you place an order you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. This does not mean we have accepted your order. Our contract with you is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been dispatched.
We may decline an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if there is an obvious pricing error, or if we suspect fraud. If we do, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
5. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling (or your selected local currency) and include VAT where applicable.
- Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. For customers in the UK and the United States, we cover import duties and customs fees, so there is nothing further to pay on delivery. Customers in other countries may have to pay local import duties or taxes.
- We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.
-
Buy now, pay later: if you choose Klarna, PayPal Pay in 3, Shop Pay Instalments or a similar option, credit is provided by that third-party lender, not by us, and your agreement with them is subject to their own terms. These are credit agreements: missed payments may affect your credit score.
6. Delivery
- We aim to dispatch orders within 1 working day. Orders placed before 12pm UK time on a working day are usually dispatched the same day.
- We ship with Royal Mail. Delivery times depend on the service and destination; you will receive tracking information by email once your order is dispatched.
- If we cannot deliver within 30 days of your order, you may cancel and receive a full refund.
- Your order is our responsibility until it is delivered to you or to someone you have nominated.
7. Your right to cancel (14 days)
If you are a consumer, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days, starting the day after you receive it, without giving a reason.
- To cancel, tell us by email at shop@caljewellery.com or through our Message us page.
- Return the item within 14 days of telling us. Unless the item is faulty or not as described, you pay the cost of returning it.
- We will refund the price you paid and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the item back (or proof that you have sent it).
- You may handle the item as you would in a shop. If it has been worn or damaged beyond that, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
- This right does not apply to items made to your specification or clearly personalised, such as bespoke designs.
Our 30-day returns policy gives you longer than the legal minimum. It is in addition to, and does not reduce, your 14-day right to cancel.
8. Wrong size
If you would like to exchange an item for a different size, we charge a £10 fee to cover processing and postage, and will send the replacement once we receive the original item. Alternatively, you can cancel within 14 days under section 7 and receive a refund instead.
9. Faulty items
Our products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If an item is faulty or not as described:
- within 30 days of delivery, you can reject it for a full refund;
- after 30 days, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, a price reduction or a refund;
- we will pay reasonable return postage for faulty items.
Normal wear, natural oxidisation of silver, and damage caused by accidents, misuse or not following care advice are not faults. For more about your rights, see Citizens Advice.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
We supply products for domestic and private use only. If you buy for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or revenue.
11. Promotions and competitions
Offers such as multi-buy deals apply only while advertised and to the products shown. Any competition or prize draw will have its own terms, published with it.
12. Reviews
Reviews on our site come from customers who have bought from us. We publish positive and negative reviews alike and do not pay for or incentivise reviews without saying so. We may remove reviews that are unlawful, offensive or not about the product.
If you submit a review, photo or other content, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on our website and social media. You confirm you own the content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
13. Using our website
- The designs, photographs, logos and text on this site belong to Cal Jewellery Limited or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission.
- You must not misuse the site, for example by introducing viruses, attempting unauthorised access, or scraping it.
- We try to keep the site accurate and available but cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
14. Your personal information
We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
15. Complaints
If you have a problem, please contact us at shop@caljewellery.com. We aim to reply within 3 working days and will try to resolve things quickly and fairly.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will not affect orders you have already placed.
17. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you live in another country, you keep any mandatory consumer protections given by the law of your country.
